CLOSING to Honor and Remember our Dear Friend and Foreman

We are sad to report that D&W Salvage has lost one of its longtime family members, Keith "Pete" Heintz on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023, after his 2-year battle with lung cancer.

For those of you who may not know, Pete started working for D&W Salvage in March of 1988. Since that time, he served in various roles from truck driver to equipment operator, and as he gained more knowledge and experience, he worked his way into the role of yard foreman. Pete loved his sweets (because as he said, they were always "sugar free") and he loved to chat about just about anything. He was definitely a jokester--he always had something to laugh and joke about with both his fellow employees and customers. In fact, many times when customers would comment on his skill when using the equipment, Pete would chuckle and respond with, "It's my first day." Little did some of the customers know that he had been working here for 30+ years! Pete was a genuinely good man with a heart of gold, he wouldn't hesitate to help others in need, and he had a multitude of friends and family--it seems that truly everybody in Huron County knew Pete Heintz! Pete will be deeply missed by all of his D&W family members.

In order to honor Pete, D&W Salvage will be CLOSED on:

Monday, March 13th, 2023

This is to allow all of our employees time to pay their final respects. We will resume our normal business hours on Tuesday, March 14th.
